Adrenal Tumor

The adrenal glands sit atop each kidney and produce hormones that give instructions to virtually every organ and tissue in your body.

Two types of problematic tumors can originate in adults’ adrenal glands. Let our Urologists give you the best treatment for both.

Bladder Cancer

Bladder cancer is a common type of cancer that begins in the cells of the bladder. The bladder is a hollow muscular organ in your lower abdomen that stores urine.

Bladder cancer signs and symptoms may include: Blood in urine (hematuria), which may cause urine to appear bright red or cola colored. Frequent urination, Painful Urination or Back Pain can also be symptoms.

If you notice any of these please call our office and set an appointment with one of our Doctors.

Female Sexual Dysfunction

Our office focuses on the treatments of female sexual dysfunction, which is the term that encompasses the many problems that keep women from having the sexual response that they desire. Factors that may contribute to FSD may include hormonal changes, pelvic pain, neurological problems, medication interactions, and cardiovascular conditions. We find many ways to treat the issue, which may include electrical stimulation, evaluation or adjustment of medications, review of hormonal levels, or topical/oral treatments to promote blood flow and genital arousal.

Interstitial Cystitis

Interstitial Cystitis is chronic, pain of the pelvic that can feel like a bladder infection for many women. This condition also results in urinary urgency and frequency along with pain. The condition can range from mild to severe, and the pain can flare up at any time. We urge women that may be experiencing bladder or pelvic pain to come to see one of our urologists for testing and treatment. We conduct testing or the urethra and other pelvic areas, and put together a treatment plan that may include dietary changes, oral medication, pelvic floor physical therapy, bladder instillation, or stimulation therapy.

Kidney Cancer

Kidney Cancer, also called renal cancer — is a disease in which kidney cells become malignant (cancerous) and grow out of control, forming a tumor. Almost all kidney cancers first appear in the lining of tiny tubes (tubules) in the kidney. The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs, each about the size of a fist. They lie in your lower abdomen on each side of your spine. Their main job is to clean your blood, removing waste products and making urine. This type of kidney cancer is called renal cell carcinoma. The good news is that most kidney cancers are found before they spread (metastasize) to distant organs. And cancers caught early are easier to treat successfully. However, these tumors can grow to be quite large before they are detected.

Kidney Stones

The kidneys are fist-size organs that handle the body’s fluid and chemical levels. Most people have two kidneys, one on each side of the spine. Healthy kidneys clean waste from the blood and remove it in the urine.

Urine contains many dissolved minerals and salts. When your urine has a high level of these you can form stones. These can start small but grow larger in size. Some stones stay in the kidney and do not cause any problems. Sometimes the kidney stone can travel down the ureter and can block urine flow and become painful.

We have many options available to us to treat kidney stones. Please set up an appointment to discuss the options with our doctors.

Kidney Transplants

When your kidneys aren’t working the way they should, waste and extra fluids build up in your body. Dialysis is one way to treat this problem, but you could also choose to have a kidney transplant. This could give you more freedom with your daily schedule. It may also give you more energy and help you feel better. And, survival rates are higher after a kidney transplant.

Please call our office and set up an appointment with our Urologists to see if a Kidney transplant is the right treatment for you.

Neurogenic Bladder

Neurogenic bladder is the name given to a number of urinary conditions that occur due to damage to the nerves carrying messages between the bladder and the brain.

Bladder muscles may be overactive and squeeze more often than normal and before the bladder is full. Sometimes the muscles are too loose and let urine leak (incontinence). In other people, the bladder muscle may become underactive. Sometimes this is from an illness or injury such as a spinal injury.

We can look at the symptoms and work on treatment for Neurogenic Bladder conditions.

Overactive Bladder

Overactive bladder is a condition in which the bladder squeezes urine out at the wrong time. You may have an overactive bladder if you have two or more of these symptoms: You urinate eight or more times a day or two or more times at night. You have the sudden, strong need to urinate immediately.

Some of these symptoms can also be caused by other conditions. Call us for an appointment so we can diagnose your problems and get them corrected as soon as possible. https://www.medtronic.com/us-en/patients/treatments-therapies/bladder-control.html

Pelvic Prolapse

Pelvic prolapse is a condition where due to stretched or weak muscles in the pelvic floor area, many essential pelvic organs begin to sag into areas, and through the pelvic floor. These organs that may sag include the kidneys, intestines, bladder, uterus, rectum, or vagina. Frequent Urination, painful urination, or pain and discomfort in the back or pelvic area are some of the symptoms of pelvic prolapse. Our urologists can diagnose and treatment pelvic prolapse, and in most cases can be easily corrected. Many mild cases can be treated with muscle exercises and physical therapy. We also can do estrogen replacement therapy if needed, along with inserting a pessary into the vagina to hold the organs in place.

Urinary Retention

Urinary retention is a condition in which you cannot empty all the urine from your bladder. Urinary retention can be acute—a sudden inability to urinate, or chronic—a gradual inability to completely empty the bladder of urine.

Our Urologist can help with Urinary Retention, call us for an appointment today to discuss this issue with our Urologists.

Urinary Tract Infection

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection in any part of your urinary system — your kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Most infections involve the lower urinary tract — the bladder and the urethra.

Women are at greater risk of developing a UTI than are men. Infection limited to your bladder can be painful and annoying. However, serious consequences can occur if a UTI spreads to your kidneys.

Doctors typically treat urinary tract infections with antibiotics. But you can take steps to reduce your chances of getting a UTI in the first place.
