Two types of problematic tumors can originate in adults’ adrenal glands. Let our Urologists give you the best treatment for both.

Adult Circumcision

Although there are numerous medical indications for adult circumcision, none of them is very common. The most frequent indication is phimosis, a tightness of the prepuce that prevents its retraction over the glans. A patient may also complain of pain with erection or during intercourse. Nonmedical reasons may be social, cultural, personal or religious.

Adult circumcision can be performed under local or regional anesthesia. The procedure is commonly performed using either the dorsal slit or the sleeve technique. The dorsal slit is especially useful in patients who have phimosis. The sleeve technique may provide better control of bleeding in patients with large subcutaneous veins. A dorsal penile nerve block, with or without a circumferential penile block, provides adequate anesthesia. Informed consent must be obtained. Possible complications of adult circumcision include infection, bleeding, poor cosmetic results, and a change in sensation during intercourse.

Kidney Cancer

Kidney Cancer, also called renal cancer — is a disease in which kidney cells become malignant (cancerous) and grow out of control, forming a tumor. Almost all kidney cancers first appear in the lining of tiny tubes (tubules) in the kidney. The kidneys are two bean-shaped organs, each about the size of a fist. They lie in your lower abdomen on each side of your spine. Their main job is to clean your blood, removing waste products and making urine. This type of kidney cancer is called renal cell carcinoma. The good news is that most kidney cancers are found before they spread (metastasize) to distant organs. And cancers caught early are easier to treat successfully. However, these tumors can grow to be quite large before they are detected.

Kidney Stones

The kidneys are fist-size organs that handle the body’s fluid and chemical levels. Most people have two kidneys, one on each side of the spine. Healthy kidneys clean waste from the blood and remove it in the urine.

Urine contains many dissolved minerals and salts. When your urine has a high level of these you can form stones. These can start small but grow larger in size. Some stones stay in the kidney and do not cause any problems. Sometimes the kidney stone can travel down the ureter and can block urine flow and become painful.

We have many options available to us to treat kidney stones. Please set up an appointment to discuss the options with our doctors.

Kidney Transplants

When your kidneys aren’t working the way they should, waste and extra fluids build up in your body. Dialysis is one way to treat this problem, but you could also choose to have a kidney transplant. This could give you more freedom with your daily schedule. It may also give you more energy and help you feel better. And, survival rates are higher after a kidney transplant.

Please call our office and set up an appointment with our Urologists to see if a Kidney transplant is the right treatment for you.

Neurogenic Bladder

Neurogenic bladder is the name given to a number of urinary conditions that occur due to damage to the nerves carrying messages between the bladder and the brain.

Bladder muscles may be overactive and squeeze more often than normal and before the bladder is full. Sometimes the muscles are too loose and let urine leak (incontinence). In other people, the bladder muscle may become underactive. Sometimes this is from an illness or injury such as a spinal injury.

We can look at the symptoms and work on treatment for Neurogenic Bladder conditions.

Overactive Bladder

Overactive bladder is a condition in which the bladder squeezes urine out at the wrong time. You may have an overactive bladder if you have two or more of these symptoms: You urinate eight or more times a day or two or more times at night. You have the sudden, strong need to urinate immediately.

Some of these symptoms can also be caused by other conditions. Call us for an appointment so we can diagnose your problems and get them corrected as soon as possible. https://www.medtronic.com/us-en/patients/treatments-therapies/bladder-control.html

Penile Cancer

Penile cancer, or cancer of the penis, is when cells grow out of control on or in a man’s penis. It often starts in skin cells and can work its way inside. It’s rare. But it can be treated, especially if it’s found early on.

Our doctors know how to treat this condition. Call us to set an appointment and we can discuss treatment.

Penile Implants

Penile implants are devices placed inside the penis to allow men with erectile dysfunction (ED) to get an erection. Penile implants are typically recommended after other treatments for ED fail. There are two main types of penile implants, semirigid and inflatable.

The inflatable penile prosthesis consists of two attached cylinders — a reservoir and a pump — which are placed surgically in the body. The two cylinders are inserted in the penis and connected by tubing to a separate reservoir of saline. The reservoir is implanted under the rectus muscles in the lower abdomen. A pump is also connected to the system and sits under the loose skin of the scrotal sac, between the testicles.

We can discuss all of the options with you when you schedule an appointment with one of our Urologists.

Peyronie’s Disease

Peyronie’s (pay-roe-NEEZ) disease is a noncancerous condition resulting from fibrous scar tissue that develops on the penis and causes curved, painful erections. Penises vary in shape and size, and having a curved erection isn’t necessarily a cause for concern.

We have a treatment from Xiaflex that is the only nonsurgical treatment option for appropriate adult men with Peyronie’s disease approved by the Food and Drug Administration. Treatment involves a series of injections given by trained urologists in the office. When paired with gentle stretching and straightening of the penis, Xiaflex is proven to help reduce erectile curvature. https://peyronies-disease.xiaflex.com/patient/

Premature Ejaculation

In the US. About 1 in 3 men 18 to 59 years old have problems with PE. The problem can be psychological but biology can play a role. Early sexual experiences. Sexual abuse, poor body image, depression, worrying about premature ejaculation, guilty feelings that increase your tendency to rush through sexual encounters can all be possible causes.

Although the exact cause of PE is not known, serotonin may play a role. Serotonin is a natural substance in your body made by nerves. Low amounts can shorten the time to ejaculation leading to PE.

Prostate Cancer

Prostate cancer is cancer that occurs in the prostate. The prostate is a small walnut-shaped gland in males that produces the seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperm.

Prostate cancer is one of the most common types of cancer. Many prostate cancers grow slowly and are confined to the prostate gland, where they may not cause serious harm. However, while some types of prostate cancer grow slowly and may need minimal or even no treatment, other types are aggressive and can spread quickly.

Prostate cancer that’s detected early — when it’s still confined to the prostate gland — has the best chance for successful treatment.

Prostatitis (Prostate Infection)

Prostatitis is a group of conditions that includes acute and chronic bacterial prostatitis and chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CPPS). It can cause infection, inflammation and pain in the prostate gland. Men with asymptomatic inflammatory prostatitis don’t have symptoms.

Prostatitis refers to four different conditions that affect the prostate gland. Two types of prostatitis are linked to urinary tract infections (UTIs). Other types are not. Men with prostatitis may have infection, inflammation and/or pain. Adult men of any age can get prostatitis.

Many men who are told they have prostatitis are misdiagnosed and actually have a different condition. There’s a lot of outdated information about prostatitis. It’s important to see a healthcare provider who is up to date on the latest prostatitis research, diagnostic tests and treatments.

Testicular Cancer

Testicular cancer occurs in the testicles (testes), which are located inside the scrotum, a loose bag of skin underneath the penis. The testicles produce male sex hormones and sperm for reproduction.

Compared with other types of cancer, testicular cancer is rare. But testicular cancer is the most common cancer in American males between the ages of 15 and 35.

Testicular cancer is highly treatable, even when cancer has spread beyond the testicle. Depending on the type and stage of testicular cancer, you may receive one of several treatments, or a combination.

Testopel Implants/Testosterone Therapy

TESTOPEL® (testosterone pellets) is approved for testosterone replacement therapy in adult males for certain conditions associated with low or absent testosterone in the body. https://www.testopel.com/

Urethral Stricture: A urethral stricture involves scarring that narrows the tube that carries urine out of your body (urethra). A stricture restricts the flow of urine from the bladder and can cause a variety of medical problems in the urinary tract, including inflammation or infection.

Urologists manage urethral strictures and can help ease the pain and help enhance your life from symptoms. Call us for an appointment to talk to one of our Urologists.

Urinary Incontinence

Urinary incontinence — the loss of bladder control — is a common and often embarrassing problem. The severity ranges from occasionally leaking urine when you cough or sneeze to having an urge to urinate that’s so sudden and strong you don’t get to a toilet in time.

Though it occurs more often as people get older, urinary incontinence isn’t an inevitable consequence of aging. If urinary incontinence affects your daily activities, don’t hesitate to see your doctor. For most people, simple lifestyle and dietary changes or medical care can treat symptoms of urinary incontinence. https://www.fixincontinence.com/

Urinary Retention

Urinary retention is a condition in which you cannot empty all the urine from your bladder. Urinary retention can be acute—a sudden inability to urinate, or chronic—a gradual inability to completely empty the bladder of urine.

Our Urologist can help with Urinary Retention, call us for an appointment today to discuss this issue with our Urologists.

Urinary Tract Infection

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection in any part of your urinary system — your kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra. Most infections involve the lower urinary tract — the bladder and the urethra.

Women are at greater risk of developing a UTI than are men. Infection limited to your bladder can be painful and annoying. However, serious consequences can occur if a UTI spreads to your kidneys.

Doctors typically treat urinary tract infections with antibiotics. But you can take steps to reduce your chances of getting a UTI in the first place.

Vasectomy

Vasectomy is minor surgery to block sperm from reaching the semen that is ejaculated from the penis. Semen still exists, but it has no sperm in it. After a vasectomy the testes still make sperm, but they are soaked up by the body. Each year, more than 500,000 men in the U.S. choose vasectomy for birth control.
